When is Thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving
A time of love, laughter, and tears of joy
It brings together those of afar
Even those dear and near to our hearts
A time of remembrance we ponder the past
We are grateful for the future
Although we attempt to live for today
We gather around a table of a feast fit for King
Praises to our Lord are bountiful
We hug and kiss as the end draws near
Families say we will see you next year
Did we every try to praise the breath of life
Praises for the love we share
And the love that God continues to have for us each day
I ask you…

Creator of all
I lay my had down to sleep
I bow my head
I pray to you
And all goes
As I lay my head to sleep
During my prayer

Tribulations no more
The sweetest of time
Is when I proclaim your love

For I gave over my day to you
I lay in slumber with no worries

My Walk With Thee
As I take to my path
A treacherous road indeed
I have skinned a knee or two
But you were there to aid in my need
As I continued to walk
People have crossed my path
Some even joined me
They tried to lead me on a trail
But you were there to whisper in my ear the truth
As I came to a fork in the road
I wanted to always take the easier way out
You let me fall and I got back up and walked to
The other side
But you are there now to give me that gut feeling
To turn the other way
As I aged and my senses failed me
I may have stumbled and wanted to give up
You let me grieve, stand, and go on
But you were there to pick me up and to wipe my tears
You are my Glory
All I give unto you
Life would never be the same

Our God Rose
A sacrificial lamb
Giving his life in vain
We feared his life gone
Our God rose
Bringing faith to the forefront
Silent and meek
Strong and all knowing
He came through the night
Not a sole was in sight
To feel his presence is so divine
Brought new life and hope
For the sick are ailed
Everything is shiny and new
God was drug to that cross
A merciless death
Clothes torn to rags
His feet bound and bloody

I asked God to listen and He brought me a voice to speak.
I asked God for a clear and distinct path and He brought me closer to His likeness.
I asked God for forgiveness and He brought compassion and empathy to my heart.
I asked God for a friend and He brought you to me.

Dear God
Often I forget
To tell you all the things I am grateful for in times
past
I guess I find that I am so sleepy and my words slur
to mush
I have seen the good and bad
And I can now say that I have seen the light
Life is calmer and easier some days
Other days it is hard and unbearable
Even when I am down and in great times
I have noticed that you have never left my side
Momments when I feel that I will never get it
But I surely know when I am on the right path
As a child I knew you
As a young adult I knew you
As an adult I pray your guidance
When I call on you
I can count on you to always be there
Your strength is monumentous
Your guidance is my blessing
Your will is my way
To thank you is not enough

Love
Love is like a spring day.
It could rain
It may be cloudy
A breeze could come along with the noonday
Or the sun could peak though
The puffiness of the blackened sky
Love is like a song.
It could be muddy water blues
It may be contemporary
A rush of thrashing, gutted songs
Could come crashing to your ears or the melodic lines
Of a renaissance piece
Love is like the ocean.
So calm and peaceful
We forget it's really there
It slowly erodes our banks and brings
Rocks, pebbles, and sea creatures
Tired of their struggle and giving up
Their fight to kiss the shores
The shores so polluted awaits high tide
So everything can be washed
Pure again
Love is like night and day.
The sun arises
Kissing the skies with a breath of life
New hopes and beginnings
Only to find
It falls to its depths so the evil night King
May reign over his throne
Making the air dense, cold,
Desolate

A state of being
