Requirements for Effective Prayer Matthew 6: 6-15; 33-34 When you pray, go into your most private room and closing the door, pray to your Father, Who is in secret, will reward you in the open. And when you pray, do not heap up phrases (multiplying words, repeating the same ones over and over) as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their much speaking. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Pray, therefore, like this: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed (kept holy) be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven (left, remitted, and let go of the debts, and have given up resentment against) our debtors. And lead us (bring) us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Amen. For if you forgive people their trespasses (their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment) your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But, if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses. But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.’ |

Prayer is as essential as our next breath. Prayer is the ultimate means of communication between God and man, and the only pathway for healing of all ills, crises and life´s many ups and downs. We must never think that praying for others is not necessary, for it can mean the difference between life and death. Prayer elicits the sacrifice of praise that our Creator so longs for and loves. Our prayers rise up to meet Him on His throne, and each prayer is a sweet fragrance; the incense of our love for Him. God loves the prayers of saints and is forever faithful to answer our pleas in His own time and way. Jesus desires that we be so consumed with Him, that His breath becomes ours, and our spiritual eyes see others as He sees them. He longs for us to be filled with a passion to win the lost souls and to restore the defeated Christians who need to seek their first love of Him . May we without question, love everyone as God has commanded us. And let us not think of ourselves, as being more holy than others, for each of us at one time has been a lost sinner. It is only by the grace of God that we our part of His kingdom, thus, in humility we must all consider others more then ourselves. No man is an island, for in the heart of every single soul that has ever lived or who ever will, there is a longing for the True Creator. May the Father of the Universe, and His Son Who gave His life for each of us, and the Holy Spirit who guides and comforts us, be far more important than even life itself. I pray God´s richest blessings on each of you and may He smile down in love upon you each day. And, may you ever reach out and hold onto His unchanging hand as you journey through life with Him. - Tara Hart |
