God's Autumn Rains

“THANK YOU’

We thank You Lord in many ways,
In deed in prayer in song.
In gratitude the world gives praise
Throughout the whole day long

I thank You for Your guiding hand
Your Spirit´s warm embrace
Your secrets that I understand
Your wonders and Your grace

I thank You for Salvation´s wine
Your burning Flame within,
For all Your love that now is mine
And freedom from my sin.

I thank You Lord that You are you,
Such joy floods deep inside.
You gave to me a name brand new
And chose me as Your Bride.

I thank my God, You´ve made me whole,
This child that once was dead.
You´ve saved my body mind and soul,
And fed to me Life´s bread.

I thank You for Your Spirit Lord,
Your gift to such as I.
Grace to flee The Avenger´s sword
And promise not to die.

I thank You for Your robe of light
Your joy and wondrous peace,
That now in You my goal´s in sight
Where life will never cease.

My gratitude is the highest praise
That I my God can give.
So now I´ll thank You endless days
I have from You to live.

I FOUND A JEWEL

I came upon a jewel one day
No better man has found.
This treasure someone threw away
Or lost it on the ground.

I sweep the roads that´s what I do,
In sun and rain I´m out
I clean the streets to look as new,
I rid what´s thrown about

This day I swept without a care
As pleased as one could be.
T´was then I saw it lying there
Quite plain for all to see.

I´m truly pleased it failed to rain,
The gutter was dry and clean.
It could have floated down the drain
And no one would have seen.

I would have thrown it in the sack
Like any other time,
Yet when I read what´s on the back
It would have been a crime

I have it now for all to see,
I keep it near my heart.
This precious jewel belongs to me
From which I´ll never part.

Its words are clear as good as new
It´s but a tract quite free
Yet still I pray it does for you,
The same it did for me

My story now is at an end
“What´s on the back’ you say?
The words that spoke to me my friend,
Are “SOME FELL BY THE WAY’

BROTHERLY LOVE

Spread forth life´s seed in every land,
Love all as I´ve loved you.
For through your love they´ll understand
The way to life anew.

A branch in Christ can cease to grow
Caused not by obvious sin.
But through the lack of love we show,
To those who serve within.

Our love in Christ should not seem rare
But flowing, deep and true.
Your brother´s burdens are to share
As he should share with you.

Look to another, as Christ would do,
Not there a fault to find.
Then they in turn, may share your view
And to your fault be blind

In many ways, true love is shown
Compassion, trust and care.
We´ll harvest only what we´ve sown,
So what we have, we share.

Let no-one covet another´s gift,
For service they´ve received.
You may well cause God´s Dove to lift
Through selfishness, He´s grieved.

Your brother may hide, a broken heart
Behind a smiling face.
Your arms to him could soon impart
The love of Christ´s embrace.

God loves to love, but hates to hate,
This statement´s more than true.
Love your brother to share the fate
That you would love for you.

I HEARD A VOICE

Last week my room was full of light,
Then someone called my name.
I thought it strange as though it might
Have come within a flame.

It seemed alive and strangely bright,
I know it sounds absurd.
I thought I´d dreamed this awesome sight,
Until the voice was heard.

The voice I heard I know was real
It came to me so near.
Then on my skin I thought to feel
The fire that burned in here.

I heard the voice again last night,
Clear as a mountain stream.
It seemed to set my soul alight,
I know it was no dream.

The speaker though I failed to see,
Yet peace I felt within.
“I´ve come my child to set you free
From all your wayward sin.

I´ll wash away your wicked past,
A brand new life I´ll give.
I am the first I am the last,
Believe my child and live.

Since first you cried I heard you say,
If you dear God are real
Please hear these words to you I pray,
And know the way I feel.

Now since that day I´m always here,
Your God is in your heart.
So trust in Me, have no more fear
From you I´ll never part.

THE DAY YOU CAME

The day You came and we were wed,
I drank Salvation´s wine.
Such joy I felt when darkness fled,
When Jesus´ love was mine.

In truth my God we spoke in prayer,
You severed Satan´s ties.
When chains fell off whilst sitting there,
This child began to rise!

A sight beyond my wildest dreams,
Suspended in mid air,
I felt Your power flow in streams
Two feet above my chair.

I heard the voice of Christ on high:
“Receive your life anew’.
You know My God I tell no lie,
These words of mine are true.

That day You shared with me Your Word,
I felt Your warm embrace.
Inside my room I felt and heard
Your Wind sweep round my face.

I´d never heard Your voice before,
I´d failed to know Your love.
But when I opened wide my door,
You gave to me Your Dove.

On gracious wings He came to me,
His Flame was warm to touch.
I bless the day You set me free,
And gave this child so much.

How oft I´ve thought, can this be true
Electric in my veins?
Your Spirit´s truly made me new,
Since Christ within now reigns.
