Last Day Deception

Having briefly looked at the issue of our varied beliefs, perhaps we would be wise to journey back to the beginning roots of our beliefs. This ‘glance back´ could without doubt expose the spiritual subversion that is coming upon the CHURCH in our present time.  Many warnings are issued in the Bible about the end time Deception, and some have taken heed to the warning and stand upon His Truth. However, far too many have ignored the warnings. The Imitator, Satan, has so cunningly devised a plan that is so close to the Truth, those thousands if not millions, have compromised the Truth for a lie. How could this have happened, you ask? The causes are rebellion, compromise and worldliness.

Rebellion is the unlawful taking away of authority. In this instance, it is the taking away of God´s Truth.  The subversion has cut so deeply into the fiber of Christianity that now many Christians doubt that Jesus is the incarnate God, and some even go so far as to claim that the Word of God was not inspired.  How once dedicated Christians could swerve so far away from the Truth, leaves many wondering and others knowing that we are in the Generation of deception.  In the past several decades, Satan has used every avenue available for his propaganda. He started with the family, progressed to the schools systems, and sadly to the churches, and then he infiltrated these institutions with Satanic rock music, Hollywood and the media. Of course Satan did not do this over night, he worked slowly because he knew that God fearing, moral people of integrity would see through his plan. Silently Satan chipped away at morality and family values, and in some measure technology was his stomping grounds. He ruthlessly undermined the Truth, until the very foundations of morality and all that was good, was corrupted. He worked feverishly to produce a generation whose main objectives and priorities were pleasure, greed and self-gratification, and he has been very successful in his endeavors.  All one needs do is to read the Newspaper and watch TV, to witness the moral degeneration and rebellion of our society. Since the time that Satan was cast out of Heaven, he has down through the centuries had one goal, and he relentlessly pursues that desire to one-day rule the world.

Compromise in a spiritual sense is making concessions to the Truth of God´s Word. In essence, when we compromise His Truth we are shouting in the face of God:  ‘I do not have to conform to God´s principles, I am saved and I can live my life as I see fit to do so.´ God gave each of us free will and it is up to each individual to do what is right in the sight of our God.  He never forces us to abide by His precepts, but as His children we are to obey His commands and to walk in His ways.  Too often in today´s society, the pattern of compromise goes beyond the bounds of Truth and the roots of apostasy begin to grow. Many misled Christians have a tendency to listen to pastors and Christian workers more often then they do the still small voice of God. What we must realize is that a man of God is human and has faults and misconceptions of the Word, just like those who sit in the church pews. The habit of many that attend churches is to believe every word that comes out of the Minister´s mouth; never consulting the Word of God to make sure this man is on the right track. This is the starting place of compromise, and unfortunately most Christians do not even have a clue that they are being deceived. The present trend in churches is to entertain the pew warmers with self-help sermons that seldom portray Jesus as the central focus of the sermon, rather than preaching and rightly dividing the Word of Truth.  Very few pastors give sermons that include the Cross-, the blood sacrifice of Jesus, and the existence of Hell, because the pastor feels that sermons on the topic might offend the modern-day churchgoers.  To illustrate the depth of compromise that now exists in the CHURCH, here are statistics from a survey conducted not long ago. Bear in mind that this survey consists of Protestant pastors who were asked this one question:

“Do you believe that the Bible is in fact the inspired and inerrant Word of God?’

The results of that question are as follows;  87% of Methodists said NO!,  95% of Episcopalians said NO!, 82% of Presbyterians said NO!, and 67% of American Baptists said NO! And when the Anglican Bishop of Edinburgh was asked, he claimed that God-given genes cause us to commit adultery! The state of the Roman Catholic Church at present is shameful. Canada recently approved same sex marriage and we cannot but wonder how long it will be before even America agrees to such an abominable union for the homosexual culture that grows stronger each day. The Old Testament as well as the New, condemns the sin of homosexuality. As were the days of Noah, Lot, and Sodom and Gomorrah, so will it be in the last days.
