Deception runs rampant in the world. It is like a cancerous sore that will not heal. It spills its vile poison throughout America and the World. Deception is so intrusive, yet so silent, and so, many fail to recognize its destructive power. In the days in which we live, it is imperative that we continually discern truth from falsehood. We must never let down our guard or become complacent.
As Christians, we must be heavily armored, for we are in a battle. The war lines were drawn centuries ago. Truth lies on one side; deception on the other. Today, the battle rages like no other time in our history. If we do not stand up for His Absolute Truth, and the foundational doctrines that came from the lips of Jesus, then the masses will be lost. We must not fail to do all in our power (through Christ), to defeat the evil forces that threaten to destroy our lives, homes, churches, and the nations.

And the word of Jehovah came to me saying, Son of man, prophesy (preach) against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them, even to the (spiritual) shepherds, Thus says Adonay Jehovah: Woe to the spiritual shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the sheep? You eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, you kill the fattlings, but you do not feed the sheep. The diseased and weak you have not strengthen, the sick you have not healed, the hurt and crippled you have not bandaged, those gone astray you have not brought back, the lost you have not sought to find, but with force and hardhearted harshness you have ruled them.

Signs of Deception
Rebellion is the unlawful taking away of authority. In this instance, it is the taking away of God´s Truth. The subversion has cut so deeply into the fiber of Christianity, that now many Christians doubt that Jesus is the incarnate God, and some even go so far as to claim that the Word of God was not inspired. How once dedicated Christians could swerve so far away from the Truth, leaves many wondering and others knowing that we are in the Generation of deception.

But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found to be sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid! For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a wrong-doer.

Compromise in a spiritual sense is making concessions to the Truth of God´s Word. In essence, when we compromise His Truth, we are shouting in the face of God: ‘I do not have to conform to God´s principles, I am saved and I can live my life as I see fit to do so!´ God gave each of us free will and it is up to each individual to do what is right in the sight of our God. He never forces us to abide by His precepts, but as His children we are to obey His commands and to walk in His ways. Too often in today´s society, the pattern of compromise goes beyond the bounds of Truth, thus the roots of apostasy begins to grow. In 2Thessalonians 2:3, it is called the apostasia, translaged it means ‘the apostasy (NASB) or in the KJV it is called ‘the falling away’ which in most instances it relates to the departure of the ‘faith´.
In A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament (BAGD), Walter Bauer defines apostasia as “rebellion, or abandonment.’ The Greek English Lexicon of Liddell and Scott carries such meaning as “to depart, to stand aloof, to detach, to forsake.’ Etymologicaly, the word is a compound of the Greek preposition apo(away from) and the noun stasis (stand). Its literal meaning is “to leave or depart from.’
In it´s theological meaning with reference to the church, apostasia is used only in 2Thessalonians 2:3. “Let no one in any way deceive you, for the day of the Lord will not come unless the apostasy comes first.’

Many misled Christians have a tendency to listen to Pastors and Christian workers, more often than they do the ‘still small voice´ of God. What we must realize is that a man of God is human, and he has faults and sometimes misconceptions of the Word, the same as those who sit in the church pews. The habit of many that attend church is to believe every word that comes out of the Minister´s mouth; never consulting the Word of God to make sure this man is on the right track. This is the starting place of compromise, and unfortunately many Christians do not even have a clue that they are being deceived.

The present trend in too many churches are, to entertain the pew warmers with self-help videos, books and cassesetts. They seldom portray Jesus as the central focus of the sermon. And they completely side-step the preaching of the Cross and rightly dividing the Word of Truth. Few Pastors sermons include the Cross, the blood sacrifice of Jesus, and the existence of Hell, because they feel that sermons on those topics might offend the modern-day churchgoers. Apparently, those churchgoers prefer to offend God?

To illustrate the depth of compromise that now exists in the CHURCH, here are statistics from a survey conducted not long ago. Bear in mind that this survey consists of Protestant Pastors who were asked this one question:
“Do you believe that the Bible is in fact the inspired and inerrant Word of God?’
The results of that question are as follows: 87% of Methodists said NO!,
95% of Episcopalians said NO!, 82% of Presbyterians said NO!,
And 67% of American Baptists said NO!
And when the Anglican Bishop of Edinburgh was asked, he claimed that God-given genes cause us to commit adultery!

Many in this generation call themselves Christians, but unfortunately it is in name only. Those who straddle the fence by believing man´s corrupt concepts of God are deeply enslaved in deception. Those who knowingly deny His existence, His deity, the virgin birth, His resurrection and second coming are not of the brotherhood and family of God. No matter how ‘holy´ we think ourselves to be, or how outwardly religious we seem, our works alone Will Not save us. Unless we have truly been regenerated by the washing of the water of the Word and by His shed blood at Calvary, then we are not one of His.

“If anyone thinks himself to be religious (piously observant of the external duties of faith), and does not bridle his tongue but deludes his own heart, this person´s religious service is worthless, futile and barren.’

It is much easier than most Christians think, for any of us to fall into Satan´s last day deception. Spiritual deception runs rampant in many churches, and sadly, most Christians do not even realize they have fallen prey to this ‘new age´ contrivance of untruths. Bear in mind, that even ‘Real Christians´ can take their eyes off Jesus and put faith in a man rather than in God. Satan´s cunningly devised deception is sometimes so close to the Truth, that the unsuspecting have bought into his lies and compromised the real Truth. Many times in the Word, Jesus has warned us to be on guard, lest we be deceived. He also said, that in the last days that if it were possible, even the very elect would be deceived; so strong and subtle would be the spiritual subversion that would come upon that generation. Paul the apostle also warned us about this deception in 1 Timothy 4:1 “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that, in the latter times, some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of demons.’

Be well balanced (temperate, sober minded) be vigilant and cautious at all times; for the enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring in fierce hunger, seeking someone to seize upon and devour.

The word ‘apostasy´ is derived from two Greek words: ‘apo´ and ‘isteme´. It means ‘to stand away from where you used to stand.´ Sadly, too many today have done just that by compromising His Word and leaning on man´s wisdom. More Christians than anyone would imagine, have left their first love of Jesus, to dabble in things unfitting for the kingdom. Some people believe that apostasy is a word used to denote cults, false religions and Satanic variances. But the truth is that within the various churches, denominations and Christian groups, deception abounds and will continue to do so until Jesus comes.

For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the full, personal knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they again become entangled in them and are overcome, their last condition is worse for them than the first.

Each day in Time, we move closer to the consummation of Earth´s past and present history. If we in all honesty, would go back in our minds (let´s say 30 years ago), and remember that time period, we would see that things are certainly different now. If we would then look around us in this present generation, we would see why Jesus and the apostles warned about the days of deception that would come upon the earth. Satan and his cohorts work harder today than in any other time period in history. Satan knows as well do we, that his time is limited, so he feverishly works to defeat not the sinners that he already has clasped his hand, but the Christians.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (1John 4:1)

DARK DAYS OF DECEPTION
If you do not believe that Satan is a real being whose aim is to kill, steal, deceive and destroy, then you are in his grip of deception (John 10:10). This is not to say, that you are some godless sinner destined to hell. Everyone has been deceived at least once by the father of deceit (Satan). These times of deception were prophesied in God's Word, in connection with the last days. (2Peter 2:1-3; 2Tim. 4:3-4; 1Tim. 4:1-11; Ephes. 4:14). All we need do is read the prophecies in the Bible, watch the nightly News and read the newspapers, to see that our world has radically changed in the past 50 years. Some might contend that the changes have improved our way of life, and I must agree that technology (which is also prophesied in the Bible) has brought us a long way. But despite that, mankind has degenerated in terms of morality and in their views of God. America and much of the World is progressively becoming a seething pot ready to erupt!
A large majority of the populace no longer honors the True God. Many who now call themselves Christians, belie that fact by their godless living. They have a 'form' of godliness, but have never truly been 'transformed' (Titus 1: 16; 2Timothy 3:5). We are told to 'try' the spirits (1John 4: 1-3), and that statement is more relevant today than in any other time in our history. In these end-times, there will be those who will confess biblical truth and will even profess that they have a relationship with God, but in reality they are deceived. They live a lie and act out their corrupted religious ways.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (Mat 7:15)

The apostles John, Paul and Peter spoke about apostasy in their day, as well as the coming apostasy in the latter times, and also in the last days. Without question, apostasy is something that plagues the church in every generation. Paul wrote about a ‘later falling away from faith.´ The words “falling away’ come from the Greek verb aphistemi and can be translated, “they shall dismiss themselves’ from the faith. It seems to me, that Paul is saying that they will distance themselves, or even completely remove themselves from the faith profession. These people label themselves as Christians, when in truth they are accepting deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons.

But the Holy Spirit distinctly and expressly declares that in latter times some will turn away from the faith, giving attention to deluding and seducing spirits and doctrines that demons teach. Through the hypocrisy and pretensions of liars whose consciences are seared (cauterized.) (1 Timothy 4:1-2).

In Timothy 3: 1-9, Paul speaks of the ‘last days´ in which difficult times will come. He writes that men will be lovers of self and money hungry people. He calls those in the future day revilers, boastful, arrogant, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, and “lovers of pleasure rather than lover´s of God.’ Can anyone deny that these are the days spoken of as the future? Are we in the days of the last generation?

For the time is coming when people will not tolerate or endure sound and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching for something pleasing and gratifying. They will gather to themselves one teacher after another, to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold. And will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths and man-made fictions.

The perpetrator of this present day deception is of course Satan. And a close examination of the Word clearly proclaims Satan's guilt. Satan began his deception when pride and greed filled his heart (Isaiah 14: 12-17), and the rebellion that ensued saw Satan and one-third of the angels in Heaven, expelled from the presence of God. He craved God's authority, and still does today. But to God be the glory, Satan is a defeated foe, and one day when all is said and done, he will be cast into the Lake of Fire, where he will burn throughout the eternity of eternities.

In the Garden of Eden, Satan found fault with God's leadership. And thus through Satan´s cunning deception, the fall of man was accomplished. Today, Satan and his demons work feverishly to undermine our homes, schools, the government, and ultimately our souls. But, don't for one moment think that because you are a Christian, that he cannot inspire you to be deceived. In 1 Peter 5: 8, Satan is portrayed as a roaring lion, walking about, seeking whom he may devour. He is the master of deception. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing, and he is more cunning than the beast of the field. He tried but failed to deceive Jesus. I pray that if he tries to deceive you, that he fails. Satan is a spirit, the most evil spirit in existence! We must be very careful not to open any doors or avenues that might give him the authority to harass, deceive, or manipulate us. (James 4:7)

In 2Corinthians 11:14, we find that Satan can be transformed into an angel of light, as can his demons. These evil creatures of darkness know the scriptures better than most of us. However, there is one difference, they misconstrue the Word to their advantage. We are not to glorify Satan and his cohorts, but we do need to know and understand his tactics, so we are not deceived.
A word of warning: Satan can just as quickly change his guise from an angel of light, into a horrid creature of darkness. Satan is the prince of darkness, the ultimate deceiver, a murderer, a thief, a liar and the shadow of darkness. Yes, Satan is powerful. But, we ‘real´ Christians are more than conquerers, because the Holy Spirit who dwells within us is more powerful than Satan could ever imagine. We have authority over Satan, but we must claim that authority in Jesus name. Satan is ever on duty and watching for the slightest loophole to gain access to us. We must stand on God's promises and through Him, we will be victorious over sin, the flesh, and our greatest enemy the devil. He is for now, the ruler of this world (Ephes. 2:2-3), but his time is short. To not believe that demon spirits roam this world taking orders from their master, Satan, is to not believe the Word of God.

If you forgive anyone anything, I too forgive that one; and what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sakes in the presence and with the approval of Christ the Messiah, to keep Satan from getting the advantage over us; for we are not ignorant of his wiles and evil intentions. During the ministry of Jesus, He cast out many evil spirits, and he healed the sick and brought many to repentance. To say that this was only applied during His ministry, and that it does not pertain to the age we live in now, is deception. God clearly pronounced, that He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8-9). His Word clearly teaches that we are in a spiritual battle today, between the forces of good and evil. (Ephesians 5:11; 6:12). It was a very real Satan, who appeared in the Garden of Eden and changed man's destiny. He is the very same one who attacked righteous Job, and the one in the New Testament who tempted Jesus. Satan is the one, who has for thousands of years (and still is today), wrecking havoc in our world. He is responsible for all of the hideous crimes, terrorism and murders that exist today; by using evil people to do his works of darkness.

For such men are false apostles (spurious, counterfeits) deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles (special messengers) of Christ the Messiah. And it is no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light; So it is not surprising if his servants also masquerade as ministers of righteousness. But their end will correspond with their deeds. (11 Corinthians 11: 13-15)

It is true, that Satan operates in many churches today. In fact, there are many Satanic churches in existence in the USA alone.
Many that once believed the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God, have forsaken their beliefs and corrupted the Holy Word of God. The deception that Satan propagates through his evil angels has caused many weak Christians to fall for his lies, because too many preachers have forsaken the Truth. They have gone by the wayside, by no longer believing the Absolute Truth of God´s Word, and giving heed to doctrines of devils. Then there are others, who put more emphasis on signs, wonders, and a 'feel good´ atmosphere, than what they do in preaching the Cross, repentance, and godly living. There are hundreds of churches in America but few Who concentrate on THE CHURCH, the Bride of Christ.

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (Mat 24:24)

These deceived Christians(?) have substituted a fast food diet of ‘self-help´ teaching, prosperity (for money´s sake) and acceptance of sin, as though it is just something we all do. I am not saying that self-help teaching, prosperity, signs and wonders are bad. I am saying that, when these things become the central focus, and man not God, is glorified and exalted, there is something lacking in this picture. These same preachers surrender their ‘former beliefs´ in lieu of not offending the congregation. They white-wash sin by saying, ‘he is cheating on his wife´, when in truth he is committing adultry. These preachers would never consider preaching about Purity before marriage. Yet, they are the first ones, to wonder why so many teenage girls end up becoming pregnant.

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (2 Pet 2:1)

Far too many preachers deny the Virgin Birth. Thus, it is not surprising that they advocate a mother's right to choose abortion. Many Homosexuals now are given a 'pastor's' status in churches, simply because the man in the Pulpit is afraid that he might offend the sodomites and be arrested! It is high time for us to look under the carpets of the so-called churches, and see what else they have swept under it! God is very clear on these matters. Men may have changed the rules, but God is the same yesterday, today and forever! Sin is sin, no matter how artistically you try and cover it up (Psalm 69:5). Abortion is murder (Jeremiah 1:4-5; Isa. 49:15-16). Homosexuality is an abomination unto the Lord (Levit. 18:22; 20:13). God´s Word, clearly says this. I do not hate homosexuals and neither does God. But God and I hate their lifestyle. I pray for their salvation, not their destruction.

But also in those days there arose false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among yourselves, who will subtly and stealthily introduce heretical doctrines (destructive heresies), even denying and disowning the Master Who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their immoral ways and lascivious doings; because of them the true Way will be maligned and defamed. And in their covetousness (lust and greed) they will exploit you with false (cunning) arguments. From of the old the sentence (of condemnation) for them has not been idle; their destruction (eternal misery) has not been asleep. (2 Peter 2:1-3)

I abhor the deception that has penetrated our society, and brought us to this time in our history. But I also know, that these things were prophesied many hundreds of years ago. And thus today, they are being played out. This is a sign of the endtimes, and we would all do well to live holy and consecrated lives to our Lord and Savior. We must pick up the torch that so many have dropped because of deception. Today we must hold our light high. His Light must again shine in the hearts of men, who have fallen by the wayside. We must be a beacon to all those who have not yet seen the Light of His love, mercy and grace( Matt. 5: 13-16). My prayer for you is that you will be ever mindful of the days of apostasy and deception in which we live. And that you will remain true to the God of your salvation. If Christians are to win this war, they must fight the good fight of faith until the end.

For we are not like so many, ~ like hucksters making a trade of peddling God´s Word and shortchanging and adulterating the divine message, but like men of sincerity and the purest motive, as commissioned and sent by God, we speak His message in Christ the Messiah, in the very sight and presence of God.

Those with open eyes see the early warning signs playing out daily in our world. It is apparent to many that these are now the last days that the Bible spoke about thousands of years ago through His prophets. The stage is set, the players are waiting in the wings and now all that remains is the curtain coming up.
Soon many will see that we have not run this race in vain. What joy it will be, to look into the eyes of Jesus, and to hear Him say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant! There could be no greater reward then spending all the eons of eternity, with the One who loves us even though we are undeserving of His love! If I could just look into His loving eyes.... touch His nail-scarred hands, and bow before Him even for a moment, that would be worth it all! But I know that this will be only the beginning of life without end, with my blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
My prayer and challenge for all of you is this: If you do not know what your eternal destiny is this minute, then look into your heart and search deeply for the answer. A minute seems so fleeting, but it only takes a few seconds to pass out of this world and into eternity. Heaven and Hell are both real places, and once we cross the line into eternity all choices are null and void, there is no turning back. Most people ‘think´ they will go to Heaven, because they consider themselves to be good, law abiding people, but that is a lie from Satan.

The Choice is Yours
Romans 3:23 says, For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. That means the fact is that we have all sinned. Unless we accept the gift of God, which is our Salvation, we will spend eternity in Hell with Satan and all of those who rejected God´s gift. Eternal torment is never ending.
The Future ~ the result of sin.
Revelation 20: 15 says, “And if anyone´s name was not found recorded in the Book of Life, he was hurled into the Lake of Fire. “
The Present ~ the Remedy for Sin.
John 3:16-17, “For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He even gave up His only begotten and unique Son, so that whosoever believes in, trusts in, clings to, relies on Him (Jesus the Son of God), shall not perish (comes to destruction, be lost) but have eternal everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.’
If you have truly invited Jesus into your heart and life you are a child of God, and your destination is Heaven!
