The Cry of War

I do not wish to open wounds, but we must remember that September 11, 2001, is why we now go to war. Terrorism has increased and chants of destruction ring openly around the world. The threat of nuclear holocaust increases in many nations, and evil men out of their ignorance and greed, seek the total annihilation of our beloved Land. Yet protestors by the thousands around the world seek to stop this war. No one wants war and the devastation of lost lives and ruined cities. But to close our eyes and ears to the real issues of this war is to neglect reality. We have no other choice then to fight for freedom of our country and for those who are enslaved by an evil tyrant. Some things in life are enviable and this is one of those times. While brave men and women leave loved ones and friends behind to do what duty demands, protesters line the streets. Those who protest, protest because they are fearful of what lies ahead. They hid behind the cloak of fear, so they do not have to conceive the gravity of the war we must fight to win. War is hell, but sometimes we must tread through hell to find heaven on the other side. Before the reality of this war begins, we  must all be reminded of that fateful day (9-11-01) when thousands of lives were so quickly snuffed out. The evil of that day will never be forgotten, but the evil men still cry out for our total destruction. This war is not about oil, it is about saving our lives and of those enslaved in Iraq and in other nations. Freedom cries out for justice and the brave soldiers hear and respond.

My prayer is that God's protective covering be over this Land of the home of the brave and the free.  We as a people must lay aside our differences and once again become a united people. - Tara Hart

Comfort Through the Chaos

We stand on a pinnacle overlooking our world. The world that was and the world in which we now live.  We still weep. We still grieve. We still pray. Many are still fearful, some even consumed with fear about the things to come. We are like little children who need comfort, reassurance and love.  Many seek solutions in all the wrong places and lose hope. But there is hope, and that hope is in Jesus, the Son of the Living and True God. He alone can deliver us from the evil ones and the destruction that we might soon experience. However, no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in as we anticipate the start of this war, we must remember that our help is in Jesus, our protector and guide. God is in charge no matter what!

Fear not, for I am always with you, no matter where you go. If you trust, rely on and cling to ME, I will open the doors of Heaven and shower you with My peace. I will cradle you in My arms because you are my child. I will enlist angels to surround and protect you. I will hide you in MY secret place of safety and no harm will come your way. Whisper my name, child, and you will know that I love you more than anyone ever has loved you. Take My hand and I will lead you through these dark days to the glorious end I have promised you. I will never leave you, nor will I forsake you, for I always keep My promises to my beloved. Be still now, as never before, and know without a doubt that I AM your GOD. Seek Me and you will find Me. Peace be still...I will calm your troubled heart." This is what Jesus is saying to us right now. We would do well to listen intently and obey His Word and His ways. Jesus alone has the answers to life's difficulties, so we must always depend on and trust in Him, the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Psalm 91,  holds the keys to our survival, if we but obey His conditions. We as the Body of Christ must continue to be in repentance for the sins of our nation and for our individual sins. Through our tragedy in 2001, God has been wooing His children back to a closer relationship with Him. In a spiritual sense, many now stand in a day of restoration and renewed commitment to faith in God.  But far too many (even Christians) are allowing fear to grip our minds to the point that we cannot grasp our need for His protection 'alone'. We face many enemies right now and we cannot let down our guard.  Fear in and of itself is not a bad thing, it is a natural response. But on the other hand, the spirit of fear is very destructive. This kind of fear produces terror, and terror comes only from Satan. His chief aim is to chain our minds with the spirit of fear and thus keep us in the darkness of chaos and confusion. Our minds are a battle-ground of emotions when we are attacked by the spirit of fear. We suffer anxiety, stress, illness and sometimes death because we do not rely on God and His mercy. We lose hope when this happens and without hope there is no Light. Hope is not generated in the physical, but rather by the Spiritual man.  The Holy Spirit is the unseen being through which we obtain  our faith and trust in our Creator.  More than ever before, we must learn the lessons of faith. No matter what the circumstances dictate to us, we must trust God and not for a moment doubt, that He is in charge and that He is more than capable of delivering us from anything that puts us in the way of jeopardy. It is time for us to get serious with God and know that without Him we can do nothing.

This Psalm is full of promises and comfort and affords Christian and those who are seeking strength and reassurance.  Write these words on the tablets of your heart by memorizing them, or type and print them. This chapter in the Word, never ceases to calm troubled minds and hearts with the sweet reassurance that Almighty God is our Stay in the time of need. -- Tara Hart (c) 2003

Psalm 91 (Amplified Old Testament)

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty (Whose power no foe can withstand).  I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I (confidently)trust! For (then) He deliver you from the snare of the fowler (hunter) and from the deadly pestilence (raging epidemic).  He will cover you with His pinions (feathers), and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler. Then you shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.  A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near to you. Only a spectator shall you be (yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High) as you witness the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place (vs 1, 14) there shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent (your dwelling).

For He will give His angels special  charge over you, to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways (of obedience and service). They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and adder, the young lion and the serpent shall  you trample under foot. Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him. I will set him on high, because He knows and understands My name (has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love and kindness; trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no never!).  He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him My salvation.

America the Beautiful

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassioned stress
A thoroughfare of freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife.
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
And every gain divine!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for halcyon skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the enameled plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till souls wax fair as earth and air
And music-hearted sea!

O beautiful for pilgrims feet,
Whose stem impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till paths be wrought through
wilds of thought
By pilgrim foot and knee!

O beautiful for glory-tale
Of liberating strife
When once and twice,
for man's avail
Men lavished precious life!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till selfish gain no longer stain
The banner of the free!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till nobler men keep once again
Thy whiter jubilee!
